Nikki's and Blue's room

Zen settled in and listened to the talk at hand. It seemed to be about crushes, but she wasn't sure.....well, no one had to know who her crush was. Anyway, she needed to ask Blue a question, but she could wait for the conversation to conclude.

"Well, I'll agree that might be more embarrassing but, then again, Izumo was like an older brother to me and I happened to like his best friend."
Minoushje turns to Zen.
"So Zen-chan is there someone who's in your heart?"

"Ah...."

Zen laughed nervously.

"Yes, but...someone in the HMA already likes him. I won't go against them."

*And she's in this room,* she thought glumly.

Blue blinked. "Huh? Really?" she asked, leaning closer. She took a deep breath in. "So, is it Neji-san, Shikamaru-kun, or Kotetsu-san?" she asked, giving a small smile.

"Don't worry. Whoever it is, we won't attack you." she reassured. She felt her eyes twitch slightly.

Zen opened her mouth and closed it again.

"Um.....it's Neji-san," she mumbled.

"But really, I'm not going to do anything, so you don't need to worry, Nikki."

Blue's eyes widened. She had no idea how to answer to that. "That's great!" she exclaimed, trying her best to put on a smile.

Zen buried her face in a convienently located pillow.

"I think I'll crawl in a hole and die now."

Nikki frowned, her heart starting to ache for the other girl, "I'm...I'm sorry, Zen-san..."

She looked down at her feet, sighing sadly, "It's just...he's one of the only guys my age that seems to always make me happy no matter what he does..." She ran her fingers through her hair, tugging on the ends nervously, "And I've known him for such a long time...even back when he was still a sweet, innocent boy..."

She shook her head, "But, none of my feelings matter if he doesn't feel the same way, right?"

Zen looked up from her pillow of shame. "Nikki, if you care that much for him you should tell him. That's the only way he'll ever know. As for me....don't worry about me. I'll bounce back," she said warmly as she smiled. "I'd much rather have a fellow HMA member be happy than think only about myself."

Nikki nodded at Zen, still slightly frowning, "I would tell him...but I haven't even seen him around town lately..."

She sighed, it was obvious that there would be situations like this. There were plenty of HMA members, so it was inevitable that two or more of the members would be in love with the same person. It just really sucked that it had to be Zen-san and I...Now I feel like I don't deserve to be happy.

"I wish it didn't have to be like this..."

Zen hugged Nikki. "I know. But that's life, eh? When you do see him, you have to tell him. You'll always wonder otherwise. He's not really the "sweep-you-off-your-feet" type of guy, you know?

Nikki nodded once again, hugging Zen back, "I'll do my best to tell him...And, if he doesn't feel the same way...well, I'm not just going to give up that easily."

She smiled, "I'm glad...that we could talk about this. It's a good thing we're both pretty civil about this kind of situation, huh?"

"I'm glad as well. It's better for things to be out in the open rather than bottled up inside." She grinned. "I'm surprised with myself, actually. Civility has never been my strong point."

"And good for you- he probably wouldn't know a good thing if it hit him in the head."

Nikki sweatdropped, "I'm probably the most civil Nara woman you'll ever meet...a lot of my aunts, like Shika-nii's mom, are pretty crazy when it comes to stuff like this...heck, even about stupid things like when their husbands drink."

She laughed, scratching the back of her head, "I've actually hit him in the head before...although, it was a complete accident." She looked up at the ceiling, "I'm a bit of a klutz, so it wasn't a complete surprise. Haha, I slipped and fell out of a tree right above where team Gai was training, and I fell right on top of Neji! Needless to say, I was embarrassed when he mentioned how clumsy I was, and how he was lucky I wasn't heavier or he'd have some major head-trauma."

"Oh, goodness. That must have been awful!" Zen closed her eyes and imagined the scene. "I wouldn't have been able to look at him for weeks."

Nikki blushed thinking back, "I couldn't look him in the eyes for a month! It was such an awkward position, too..." She blushed harder, "TenTen poked fun at me for weeks about how my body just couldn't take it anymore, so I jumped him. She still thinks I have really intense raging horomones."

"Good Lord....." Zen laughed nervously. "I've had a few moments like that. When I was little, there was this boy I really liked. I wanted so badly to impress him, but he was studying to be a ninja, and I...well, I'm just now learning. Anyway, I found a kunai on the side of the road and started playing with it in an attempt to get him to notice me. All I ended up doing was ripping my skirt right in front of him....and my underwear as well." Zen turned bright red at the memory.

Nikki sweatdropped, "I'd probably die of embarrassment if that happened to me!"

"I really hope something like that doesn't happen to me any time soon...that would be even worse than having it happen as a child!"

Zen scratched her neck absentmindedly, still flushed. "I know. But there's a simple solution- stay away from sharp objects," she said humorously.

Nikki sighed, "I wish I could." She slightly rubbed the back of her neck, "But they're my only offense. Well, kunai, shuriken, and my bow and arrows..."

She shrugged, "I'm pretty lame when it comes to being a Nara. I mean, I guess I have the IQ, but I don't have the Kekkei Genkai...I don't even really have very much chakra." She smiled, "But I guess that doesn't really bother anyone, you know? Lee has no chakra what so ever, and yet he's still very strong-willed, and he still has confidence in himself. I kind of envy him...for more reasons than one, of course."

Zen grinned impishly. "Mhm hmmm...."

She thought for a moment.

"I've never seen you fight, but I'm sure that you're good in your own way. Everyone works differently."

Nikki looks over at Zen, grinning sheepishly, "No one here at HMA has ever seen me fight...I try to avoid it as much as possible. I still haven't even taken the ranking exam thing..." She laughed, laying down on her back, "I don't care if I'm a ninja or not...I'm the treasurer here; I should have no reason to fight...But, if worst comes to worst, I'll pull out all of my little tricks and do what I can."

"Well then, that's all you need. Not everyone needs to be a warrior. Heck, I doubt I'll become much of a ninja....but I can throw a heck of a punch now."

Nikki laughs, "I'm such a weakling physically. I took a swing at Asuma-Sensei once, and it hurt me quite a lot, and he just laughed at me. But then I challenged him to a race and I won hands down." Her lips curled up even further, "I'm what you'd call...a run-away ninja. I'm a great decoy, and it's almost garunteed that I won't get hurt or killed. I'm even a little faster than Lee without his leg weights."

She chuckled. "I'd rather be fast and weak than strong and slow. But then again, I like to run, so that's that."
