Gaara's in town?? 8D

Subject: Gaara's in town?? 8D Sat Oct 10, 2009 11:09 am

Nena looked around franctically. She had heard but wasn't quite sure if it was fact or not. Was Gaara really in Konoha? She didn't remember who told her but she was too excited at seeing him again to care if the news was legible or not.

On a few of her travels she had stopped by the Sand Village and hung out with the Sand Sibs, even helping Gaara with missions he could find no one quick enough to take. She hadn't been there in a while and to think that Gaara had come to Konoha while she was there made her giddy and excited and rushed. She looked furiously through the crowd of people to see if she could find that spiked red hair she adored so much.

Paige was walking the streets when she bumped into someone, knocking them back. Looking up she spotted Nena, who seemed to be looking for someone.

"Nena! Who you looking for? Can I help? Is it someone special?"

Nena blushed madly at Paige's suggestion at her looking for 'someone special.' She straightened her leather jacket.

She scoffed nonchallantly and shoved her hands in to her jean pockets while looking away. "Tch, no . . . not like that . . . just Gaara." She said while ready to stab her heart if it didn't stop beating so fast.

Minoushje walked through town when she spotted a familiar face.
"Nena-chan!!" She called as she walked to the other girl. "Say have you heard? The sand sibs are in town."
She grinned.
"Man, it's been ages since I last saw Temari-chan."

Nena's face less-redened when Mino came over with her laid back words about Temari. "Yeah, me too." She chuckled. "She'll probably kick me for not mailing her sooner of my whereabouts. It's been a month or so since I last exchanged letters with her."

Annoying habit, but Minoushje always seems to notice little details like that.

The red to Nena's face returned. Mino's an Anbu, why would she expect any less observancy?

"Um . . . um . . ." She looked around for an excuse and sadly found none. "It's hot out here?" She more asked than defended. She tried her best to ignore the breeze that just so happened to magically blow for the sole purpose of screwing with her.

"Uh-huh... so which one?" Minoushje asks laughing. "We all have someone we like... Zumi likes Kiba, Zen likes Obito, I think Koe and Izumo definitely have something going... should I go on?"

"No, no. I can guess the rest." Nena sighed to the ground. "Okay, you've got me red-faced . . . Gaara." She looked up at Mino with a half-smile and a nervous expression. "He makes smile." She admitted a low tone as if justifying her affection was even needed.

"I can understand that... he's a nice kid." Minoushje blinks a few times. "Ouch that made me sound old, didn't it?"

Minoushje felt the sudden urge to find Temari and Kankuro as soon as possible and find out what their little brother felt.

Nena smiled to herself. "He is, whenever I felt like venting we'd just go in to his office and sit. I'd talk and he'd just sit there looking interested at what I had to say." She resisted her urge to giggle in nostalgai. "I could talk for days and he'd still seem like he was totally in to what I was saying. Sometimes he spoke, always at that right times, though. He always had perfect timing with anything he said and knew the right words to pick where as I'd stuble with my speech." She laughed at Mino. "You're not considered Old until you start complaining about your hip."

Gaara placed money on the counter and picked up his steaming plate of gizzards. He walked out of the stand and began to eat as he walked, observing all the people bustling from one place to another.

I wonder where Naruto is... He thought absentmindedly, chewing. He glanced over at a group of girls who were chatting quite loudly and caught his name in the mix. He frowned slightly and sat at a bench, watching them. "Nena?" He murmured quietly, staring.

Paige looked away from the conversation between Minoushje and Nena. that's when she spotted the oh so familiar red hair of the Kazekage himself.

She bounced over smiling with her cheeks tinted pink.

"Hey Gaara-kun, it's been a while, ne?"

Nena sees Paige bounce over to someone and widens her eyes when she sees Gaara, just sitting their for who knows how long and probably heard their entire conversation. She walks towards Gaara and stands beside Paige.

She smiled while looking in to his jade eyes and waves.

Paige could feel her cheeks going a deeper pink and really tried to hide it.

She grinned happily and waved like the idiot the she aparently is the said moment.

'Well, I don't look like a idiot at all now do I? Nope. Not. At. All.' The girl could mentally strangle herself at current moment for her idiocy.

"Heard you were in town," Nena said while toning down the flame igniting on her cheecks. "So I came to find you. Paige and Mino showed up, too." She smiled. "It's been a while," She grinned. "In Temari's last letter she said you were tied down with work, what brings you here, though?" She asked.

Zen appeared mysteriously by Paige's side.

"Gaara's in town and no one told me?" she hissed in the girl's ear.

Gaara raised his inexistent brows and swallowed his food, glancing at the three girls that surrounded him. "I have a couple things I need to drop off at Tsunade's... personally. I'm staying here for a couple days, so... I just thought..." he trailed off, reaching over to the garbage can to throw away his empty tray.

He stood and wiped his mouth with a napkin, "How have you been doing?" he asked politely.

Kankurou had been putting him through polite manners boot camp the past year. And there really was a difference between the sociopath he'd once been and the Kazekage he was now.

"Great." Nena quickly said while looking down. "I-i have missed you since our last meet." She blushed at her own words and looked down. "Y-you know, a-as a friend." She cursed herself for stuttering. She usually never stuttered in front of him, even through their talks she might have stumbled over words but never stutter. What was with this girl who normally always knew what to say?

The slightest indication of a smile on his face could have been a face-splitting grin on a normal person. "Like you said, I've been concentrated on a lot of paperwork... Kage business." He brushed his hands off and stood, "Walk with me?" He asked, clasping his hands behind his back. "I think..." he paused, "I think we should catch up."

Nena's smiled warmed as did her face. "Sure." She smiled. "I'd love that. It's been so long since we've talked."

Nena giggled while trying not to blush. "You never minded listening to me, or at least you never admitted it." She looked up at him, damn that girl was a tad bit shorter than him. "Although since I left Suna not much has happened." She looked up to the clear blue sky smiling. "I'm no longer unranked, though." She turned to him with such happiness. "I've been made a jonin now! Hear that? I've got a rank and it's pretty great! Now Kankuro can't rub being 'higher' than me in my face anymore." She said triumphantly.

Nena nudged him playfully with a grin. "Hey! I'm fun-sized!" She joked in defense of her vertically challenged height.
