Nena stared at Cooky intently and deeply. "You've been through so much . . ." She said while tears brimmed her eyes. "And yet you manage to stay together and calm and aloof." Her bottom lip quivered and that was what set off the water-works. Cooky rarely cried, so Nena, like the child she had yet to grow out of, felt the need to cry for her.

Nikki subconsciously rubbed her cheek against Cooky's arm. "It's not fair...you shouldn't have been put through a situation like that...but, it can't be changed now...but, what can be changed, and what has been changed...is that now you have more friends who are here for you. We're always here for you, Cooky-sama..."

Cooky laughed, curling her arm around the sobbing Nena and hugging her to her side as well. "Aw~ you two don't have to be so concerned for me! I accepted whatever my fate might be the second Unjou disappeared."

She sighed at the tears in their eyes. "Relax. Seriously, I'm okay now. It was just a bit of a... shock at hearing Unjou's actually still alive, after so many years of not knowing, of searching..."

Her sentence trailed off into oblivion before the VP simply smiled at the two younger girls, patting their heads affectionately from within the group hug. "...You're good kids, and you don't need to cry for me. You've got your own problems to deal with."

Nikki couldn't help but to cling to Cooky more, "You're such a great person, Cooky-sama...how could we not cry for you? You've been so brave throughout the years!"

Suddenly, Nikki thought back to when she and Cooky were on the roof. "Do I...did I remind you of him?" She was a little afraid to ask, but she had to know.

"If I don't cry for you, who will?" Nena sniffled while looking up at Cooky. "You accepted your fate when you found out he dissapeared . . ." She repeated. "But now that he's 'back,' does that change anything?"

Cooky simply smiled sadly at Nikki, patting her head once more. She didn't bother to mention that the action had become something of a security blanket, as Unjou used to do the exact same thing whenever she would cry as a child. "...Sometimes it's like I'm staring right at him all over again when I look at you."

She sighed at the other girl's question. "Nena, over the years, you learn to accept whatever life throws your way. Unjou and I will meet again... I just have to be patient, that's all."

She whiped her tears. She felt like the innocent child sitting before her grandma's chair hearing a the wisdom time has provided. "Is your village . . . your old village . . . does it still exist and do what it does today?"

Cooky sighed, rubbing the bridge of her nose once again. How many times had she sighed this week -- a thousand? "Yup; they're still at it, the charming lads that they are. I would go back to help... but... people have been ordered to kill me on sight. Even my parents."

Nena averted her eyes down in anger. "They should be stopped. No one deserves to be put through such things and no one has the right to put someone through such a thing." She said bitterly.

Cooky simply patted the younger girl's head once more. "One day, Nena-chuu. One day me and Unjou will meet again, and we'll go fix it -- save everyone there, and kill the leaders. We've had it thought out since we were 10, though the whole 'thrown in prison for 5 years while he disappears' was a bit of a bump in the plan."

"I hope he comes to town." Nena says. "It'd be nice meeting Cooky's old boyfriend." She said lightly.

Cooky instantly burst into uproarious laughter. "BOYFRIEND!" She snorted, waving a flippant hand. "Oh, man; that's rich! Very nice, Nena-chuu, but you're way off." She was still chuckling when she finished her sentence, though a mircoscopic flush of red was present on her cheekbones.

Nena smirked. "Oh, Cooky, you're just cutest thing when you're nervous, aren't you?" Nena lightly teased. "Now I really can't wait to meet him!"

Cooky glared, though the red on her cheeks flared into a full crimson, causing her to spin on her chair and look out the window in embarrasment. "Sh-Shut up. It was a TINY crush when I was 11, that's all. What'd you expect when he was the only person I made basic human contact with?!"

Nena giggled lightly. "He obviously has a little thing for you still." She said with a grin. "I'm sure he didn't pay off our debts for nothing."

Cooky glowered at Nena without heat from the corner of her eye. "...I think you should be off now. A little birdy told me that you and Naruto are going for ramen, are you not?"

"Ah yes, damn those talking birds." She said while heading for the door. She paused and turned to Cooky. "I hope you feel much better later." She said as if it were a prayer before leaving.

Cooky just smiled, waving at Nena as she left.

As soon as the office door closed, she let out a long, drawn out sigh, turning back to the window and staring out over the expansive plains of the country. "Unjou..." She muttered, clasping her hands underneath her hands once more. "...Are you really here, after all these years?"

Nikki felt butterflies in her stomach. She reminded Cooky of her only friend back home. She lightly smiled at her superior, and walked toward the door, "If you ever need me for anything...even if it's just to sit in silence...you know where to find me. I'm always happy to help you out."
